AIMUC Venue

The venue we have chosen for the tournament is the Trinity College Sportsgrounds in Santry, Dublin. We had the choice of two venues, the second being the grounds of NUI Maynooth but decided on Santry for the following reasons:

  • Excellent amenities nearby especially the cheap supermarket directly opposite the venue and value for money hotel accommodation within walking distance
  • Well serviced by public transport for Dublin teams
  • Well known venue for the majority of players from both Dublin and further afield
  • Ample free and secure parking for participants
  • Clubhouse available with changing rooms, shelter and an outdoor tap for water
  • Many of our Tournament Organising Committee have run events at and/or played at the venue before so we know it well
  • Local hotel function room available for IFDA Congress if needed

Pitches

We will be lining the pitches ourselves the day(s) before the tournament begins in order to ensure that it is done correctly. Each pitch will be of regulation dimensions and with brick marks at either end of the field. Standard orange collapsible cones will mark out every endzone and each pitch will have a scoreboard.  The venue has space for at least 6 pitches, more than has been needed at All-Ireland Mixed Championships in the past.
